Volleyball Camps to start in June at Starland

Starland SportsPlex and Fun Park, Hanover MA, to re-open on June 1st. 2020

Shane Burnison, General Manager at Starland said; "The Board of directors meeting last week has a approved a return to Starland as of June 1st.  There will be protocols we will follow, but we plan on this opening and all surfaces will be disinfected before and after every use."

MGA plans to host Camps at Starland Starting on June 22.  We intend to host 9 weeks of camps thru the summer until August when, hopefully, school will resume.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: ALL Practices/Tournaments ON HOLD!

So what can you do as a player without practice?

If you have a volleyball: 

Set it over your head. Walk around setting it over your head. Go out side and practice setting it high and low.

Passing the volleyball:  throw the volleyball onto a sloped roof, wait for it to come off the roof and pass it to yourself.

If you have a high wall, ask your parent to measure the height of the wall, draw a line or place tape on the wall at 7'.5" walk 20 steps away and try to serve the ball over that line.

Teach your siblings how to play, pepper with them.

The weather is getting nicer, go to Babson and serve some volleyballs over the net on the sand court.

Daily:

  • 100 Crunches
  • 200 Russian Twists
  • 30 side crunches on each side
  • 100 push ups
  • 50 lunges
  • 50 squats
  • 25 jump squats
  • 3 One minute planks

Do this daily, it will keep you from getting bored and you will be so strong when you get back.

You should also be looking to keep your body ready for when we get back into the gym: stay hydrated, eat healthy and make sure you stay on a sleep schedule.

If you are a Supernova player, please register on the Starland Site Here. Supernova Players will practice on Wednesday evenings and Sunday evenings at Starland.
